Am I Eligible for Free Boiler Repair or Replacement?

Many households in the UK are still struggling with their heating bills. As energy costs increase, fuel poverty becomes a very harsh reality for many of us. Since the economy has gone through some turbulent times as of late, families have struggled to manage the balance between paying heating bills and meeting other essential needs such as food, fuel and basic provisions. It isn’t just affecting UK residents financially; it’s also taking a toll on our physical and mental well-being.

That’s why it’s important to know what support is out there, especially as the winter months continue. If you are struggling with a broken or inefficient boiler, there are a number of schemes that you can access to make positive steps towards a warmer, more comfortable and affordable home.

The LEAP boiler scheme is still open for boiler grant applications in England and Wales. Eligible households will be able to repair or replace their broken, inefficient boiler with us. Here’s how.

The LEAP Boiler Grant Scheme – Part of the LEAP Programme

The LEAP Boiler Scheme is a free boiler replacement & boiler repair scheme provided by the Local Energy Advice Partnership (LEAP) and funded by energy companies through the Warm Home Discount Industry Initiative Scheme.

All LEAP services start with a call to the LEAP Energy Advice Service. In order to be eligible for the boiler scheme, you will need to book an appointment with one of our energy advisors. This is to ensure that we help as many people as possible, offering the right services to the most suitable households at the right time. We will work with you to see if you qualify, so that you can be safe in the knowledge that you’re on the right track towards a more comfortable and more affordable home.

Signs your boiler might not be working properly

You could be sitting at home with an inefficient boiler. This means your central heating system is having to work extra hard, just to maintain a moderate level of comfort. For example, if your boilers’ efficiency is as low as 60%, 40% of the energy you spend your money on is going to waste.

There are many reasons why checking your boiler for suitable repair is highly recommended, particularly when it comes to energy efficiency and saving money:

  • Efficient boilers that consume less energy are better at maintaining a steady temperature in the whole house, making it a more comfortable place to live for you and your loved ones.
  • Efficient boilers help to eliminate uncomfortable, cold and draughty spots by evenly spacing out the heating of your home.
  • Having efficient heating controls gives you greater control over the level of comfort throughout the day or night; you get to choose how you heat your home and you can easily change your settings to fit your circumstances.
  • Efficient boilers are effective in the fight against climate change by lowering carbon output. Not only will your house be more comfortable, you’ll be helping the overall environment as well.
