Mrs Ward’s daughter heard about how LEAP is now helping Scottish residents at her workplace (Scottish Power Energy Network) and made the great decision to apply on her mother’s behalf. Mrs W is retired on a low income and disability benefits, living alone in Glasgow. The rising energy prices have been really hard for Mrs W, particularly with old, energy-hungry kitchen appliances.
Peter, one of LEAP’s Home Energy Advisors (HEAs) visited Mrs Ward at home and gave her in-depth energy saving advice, installed radiator panels to help reflect heat back into her home and fitted low energy LED lightbulbs. Peter also ordered a brand-new energy efficient washing machine and an air fryer for her to help reduce her energy costs – all free as part of the LEAP scheme in Scotland.
Within a few days, the delivery company installed the new, free washing machine and took the old one away. Mrs W is now getting used to using her new air fryer too. Mrs Ward said:
“The things that LEAP have done for me have made my home warmer and helped me get my energy bills under control. They have been a real benefit.
“The service provided was excellent. I was kept informed every step of the way. The delivery of the new washing machine was carried out fast and efficiently by friendly professionals that went to great lengths to make sure I was happy with everything. I’d highly recommend applying to LEAP if you meet the criteria.”
Mrs Ward’s daughter said: “Mum is over the moon and is so happy with everything. Thank you for such a great service!”
